MONDAY GOSSIP!

Liverpool would take Manchester City's want-away striker Carlos Tevez, 27, on loan if they let him leave before the transfer window shuts.

Everton are increasingly hopeful of clinching a deal for Rangers striker Nikica Jelavic, 26, and are likely to pay £6m including add-ons.

Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill will bid to prise 34-year-old striker Kevin Davies from Bolton but it may take £1m rather than a loan arrangement.

Arsenal are ready to make a shock bid for defender Adrian Mariappa, 25, of Watford, who will accept just over £2m for him.

John Terry faces a second successive pre-match snub, with England colleague Rio Ferdinand, brother of QPR's Anton, still deciding whether to shake his hand before Sunday's Manchester United-Chelsea Premier League clash.
