CONFIRMED: Chelsea beat Arsenal and Man City to goalkeeper prodigy.

CHELSEA have beaten Arsenal and Manchester City to the signing of 13-year-old goalkeeper Nicolas Tie.

The youngster, who stands tall at 6ft 1in, has been hailed as the next big thing in his home country of France, and Chelsea have moved quickly to secure his signature from FC Poitiers.

Tie will join the Blues on a permanent deal once he turns 16 in 2017, but in the meantime will be allowed to train at their Cobham base during the summer holidays.

The shot-stopper is seen by Jose Mourinho as the long-term successor to Belgium international Thibaut Courtois, who in turn has just displaced veteran Petr Cech as the club's number one.

Courtois spent three years away from the Premier League on loan with Atletico Madrid, winning the Spanish Cup as well as La Liga during his time with Diego Simeone's side.
