Steven Gerrard set to miss Madrid clash as Brendan Rodgers keeps eye on Chelsea

The Liverpool boss wants to hold his captain back for Saturday's crucial Premier League clash against Chelsea.
But Rodgers - who is also considering leaving out Raheem Sterling and Dejan Lovren denied placing priority on the League campaign was a gamble.
Gerrard, 34, played 90 minutes in the weekend defeat to Newcastle.
And when Rodgers was asked whether he would give the midfielder the night off ahead of the Chelsea game, Rodgers admitted: "It is something I need to look at. Steven and I have spoken about that.
"Three big games: Newcastle, Madrid and then Chelsea. I need to look at a number of players to look at the games we want them to play in.
"That is something I will look at and we will see how that shapes up.
"In Steven's case, I have to look at what the priority is for him and us. If he played against Newcastle and didn't play tomorrow night you could say this Saturday was the priority.
"We brought in other players and there is responsibility to look at them.
"But there is no doubt that our priorities are the Premier League and then the Champions League.
"If we want to develop we need to ensure we are in the top four but we also want to qualify from this group.
"I see we have spent an awful lot of money on players to come in and now we have to give them an opportunity to perform.
"If, at the end of this cycle of games, they haven't performed, they can never say they haven't been given a chance."
